Sergio Perez in ‘advanced talks’ for F1 return as Mexican looks to show up Red Bull

Sergio Perez is reportedly in “advanced talks” about a return to Formula One just months after being given the boot by Red Bull. It comes amid a period of chaos at his former constructor, with Perez’s replacement, Liam Lawson, already having been axed himself.
Perez made his Formula One debut back in 2011 for Sauber F1 Team, before eventually making the jump to Red Bull ahead of the 2020 season. Across his five years behind the wheel at Red Bull, the Mexican recorded six race wins, with his best finish coming in the 2023 campaign when he placed second in the Drivers’ Championship behind team-mate Max Verstappen.
