Ronnie O’Sullivan knows exactly what Kyren Wilson did wrong before World Championship loss

Ronnie O’Sullivan has pinpointed the critical mistake he believes led to Kyren Wilson’s shock first-round exit at the 2025 World Snooker Championship. The defending champion was expected to progress comfortably against Lei Peifan – one of the lowest-ranked players in the tournament – but fell to a narrow 10-9 defeat.
Speaking on TNT Sports afterwards, O’Sullivan offered a little insight into why the 33-year-old came up short. He noted that Wilson didn’t play poorly, he was simply outshone. “I don’t think Kyren played that bad, I just think the other guy played well,” The Rocket, 49, said. “Kyren just had one of those sessions tonight where nothing really went right for him. The balls were going against him, and that’s just the way it can go sometimes.”
