Jason Cummings helped Mohun Bagan go level with Bengaluru FC after an own goal by Alberto Rodriguez put the Blues in the lead before Jamie Maclaren’s extra time strike sealed a memorable triumph for the Mariners at Kolkata’s iconic Salt Lake Stadium, their home ground.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant fought back from a goal down to defeat Bengaluru FC 2-1 in the ISL Cup final at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday. The ‘Mariners’ thus completed a memorable season double, having won the League Winners Shield by finishing on top of the points table last month.

After a goal-less first half, Mohun Bagan’s Alberto Rodríguez scored an own goal in the 49th minute to give Bengaluru FC the lead. Mohun Bagan striker Jason Cummings then struck from the penalty spot to restore parity in the 72nd minute.

The match went into the extra time and Jamie Maclaren scored the decisive goal after six minutes (96th) to the wild celebrations of the vociferous Mohun Bagan supporters at the Salt Lake Stadium.
