Liverpool have officially confirmed that Mohamed Salah has put pen to paper on a new deal at Anfield.

The Premier League’s current top scorer is thought to have extended his eight-year stay on Merseyside until the summer of 2027 to bring to an end a long-running contract saga that many fans feared could have led to a high-profile exit for nothing at the end of the season.

“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football,” Salah told Liverpool’s official website after signing his new two-year extension.
