Amorim continues to back Onana as he suffers through a difficult season

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim confirmed that he does not plan to drop Andre Onana after his goalkeeper made two major errors in the Europa League draw away to Lyon.

Onana was at fault for both Thiago Almada’s opener and Rayan Cherki’s 95th-minute equaliser. He failed to claim Almada’s cross, watching helplessly as it bounced into his net before spilling a shot from Georges Mikautadze in second-half injury time, allowing Cherki to poach a late equaliser with mere seconds left in the match.

Asked whether Onana would be replaced, he said: “No, we continue to do the same thing. Training, seeing the games, trying to choose the best eleven to win every match.”
