Man United manager Amorim defends Onana as Scholes, Savage blast goalkeeper: 'Probably wishing he kept his mouth shut'

Man United goalkeeper Andre Onana made two mistakes as the team was held to a 2-2 draw by Lyon. Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage have now criticised Onana for his performance while manager Ruben Amorim has defended him.

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is facing criticism from experts after his
error-prone performance in the Europa League match against Lyon but the Cameroonian footballer has been backed by manager Ruben Amorim.

The 29-year-old made two costly mistakes as Manchester United were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at Lyon. He first failed to keep away a Thiago Almada free kick and also was at fault when Rayan Cherki scored the last-gasp equaliser.

The mistakes from Onana came after he was branded
“one of the worst-ever goalkeepers” in the club’s history by former Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic, who now plays for Lyon.
