There were doubts over Liverpool’s future after Jurgen Klopp bid Anfield an emotional goodbye last summer, having helped the iconic club win their first title of the Premier League era besides winning only their second UEFA Champions League title in the last four decades.
Arne Slot, meanwhile, had not coached outside Netherlands in his managerial career, leading to doubts over his place in the English game and whether Liverpool would continue challenging Manchester City and other teams for the title after Klopp’s departure.
