Arne Slot argued it was “so obvious” that James Tarkowski should have been sent off for Everton in their defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
The Reds moved 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win over their Merseyside rivals, with Diogo Jota’s second-half strike enough for a narrow derby victory.
The referee showed Tarkowski a yellow card and VAR decided not to upgrade that to a red, a decision that Jamie Carragher described as “shocking”.
