ISL Final: Revisiting Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC's record in past finals ahead of their showdown in Kolkata

Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Bengaluru FC are set to lock horns in Saturday’s ISL Cup final at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium after defeating Jamshedpur FC and FC Goa respectively in the semi-finals, both teams winning by a 3-2 aggregate.

The stage is set for one final showdown in the 2024-25 season of the Indian Super League (ISL) with Mohun Bagan set to face Bengaluru FC in the summit clash in Kolkata on Saturday. Both teams progressed to the ISL Cup final after winning the semi-finals with a 3-2 aggregate, overcoming a 2-1 away defeat with a 2-0 victory at home. While Bengaluru FC defeated two-time runners-up FC Goa, Mohun Bagan overcame a stiff challenge from from Jamshedpur FC.

The ‘Mariners’ have been among the most consistent teams since joining the ISL along with arch-rivals East Bengal in 2020. Not only did Mohun Bagan win a second consecutive League Shield this year by finishing at the top of the table with an eight-point cushion, they have also featured in the ISL Cup final four times in five seasons, including the upcoming contest.
