Grand National tragic deaths in total after loss of horse with ‘no more to give’

It is the annual sporting spectacle that see an estimated 13 million adults in the UK place their bets but there is a dark side to the Grand National, as today’s death confirms
The death of Celebre D’Allen, the horse who collapsed after running in the Grand National on Saturday, has sadly been announced today. The 13-year-old steed had led the field in the famous steeplechase with three fences still to jump but he tired and went onto collapse when walked in by the veterinary team on the home straight.
