The countdown to the year’s first major is well and truly underway, and there will be plenty of juicy storylines for fans to sink their teeth into at the Masters next week. Rory McIlroy has started the year on fire, with two tournament wins to his name already, and the Northern Irishman will be desperate to end an 11-year wait for one of the tour’s four main titles.
McIlroy has the three other majors on his CV but he has never won at Augusta. And a crop of the world’s best golfers will be there to try and stop his dreams coming true, chief among which is world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who finished tied for second at the Houston Open on Sunday while McIlroy was four shots back in fifth.
