Familiar issues on show as Arsenal risk losing momentum ahead of Real Madrid showdown

If Arsenal’s win over Real Madrid on Tuesday night was one of the most memorable at Emirates Stadium, then this draw with Brentford was one of the most forgettable.
That was hardly surprising given where Arsenal’s season is right now. It is all about the Champions League and it felt like everyone inside the Emirates – bar those of a Brentford persuasion – had one eye on Wednesday’s trip to Madrid.
The Gunners controlled much of the game, finishing it with over 60 per cent possession and Brentford had just three shots on target. The points, however, were shared after Yoane Wissa cancelled out Thomas Partey’s opener.
