F1 LIVE: Max Verstappen narrowly escapes major punishment as Lewis Hamilton furious
Oscar Piastri claimed his third race win of 2025 in a dramatic Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The McLaren star finished ahead of Max Verstappen, who received a five-second time penalty for a first-lap incident, to move onto 99 points in the Drivers’ Championship leaderboard.
Piastri, whose triumph hinged on that moment that saw Verstappen punished, now leads the Drivers’ Championship for the first time this season after team-mate Lando Norris came fourth in Jeddah. In an epic race, Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari woes continued as he finished seventh, more than half a minute behind colleagues Charles Leclerc.
