Daisy’s run ended as Nelson hit five in big win for hosts
Daisy Hill’s hopes of extending their recent unbeaten run were unceremoniously ended on Saturday when they fell to a 5-1 defeat at Nelson in the North West Counties League First Division North.
A hat-trick for striker Max Cane was the afternoon’s highlight for the home side, but Daisy were guilty of spurning some excellent chances in the first half, and manager Lee Hill admitted afterwards a combination of failing to take opportunities, coupled with defensive slackness, had cost them dearly.
