Paris Olympics javelin gold medalist Arshad Nadeem has declined Neeraj Chopra’s offer to participate in the
upcoming Neeraj Chopra Classic javelin throw event in Bengaluru amid the heightened tension between Indian and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack.
The inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic javelin throw event will take place on 24 May at the Sri Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium in Bengaluru.
Nadeem declined the invitation, citing his prior plans to take part in the Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea. However, many expected Nadeem to skip the Neeraj Chopra javelin event amid India-Pakistan tensions.
