Ange Postecoglou says he is resigned to his Tottenham side having to get past Eintracht Frankfurt without help from the “football gods” after they were frustrated in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final against the Bundesliga club.
Pedro Porro’s outstanding flicked goal cancelled out Hugo Ekitike’s sixth-minute strike to earn Spurs a 1-1 home draw but Postecoglou’s side could not find a winner despite a slew of second-half chances.
“A little bit frustrated by the result obviously but I thought the performance in general was really good from the boys.
