Academy aftercare a potential avenue for York City’s future

PREMIER League side Crystal Palace became the first club to introduce an aftercare programme for youngsters in 2022 – something that York City are keen to replicate.

Crystal Palace revealed a new aftercare programme that assists academy footballers in life after football, should they be released and struggle to find a route into full-time football after their experience in the academy.

Adam Hinshelwood wants York to have something similar, in his bid to make City into a ‘family’ – from the first-team down to the academy.
